Amanda Cassatt is an American entrepreneur, author, and marketing executive. he is known for her foundational contributions to the marketing and narrative development of the Ethereum and Web3 ecosystems. Cassatt is the founder and CEO of Serotonin, a Web3 marketing agency and product studio, and previously served as the Chief Marketing Officer of ConsenSys. [2] [3]
Amanda Cassatt graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Columbia University in the City of New York, where she studied from 2009 to 2013. She completed her secondary education at National Cathedral School between 2000 and 2009. [2]
Amanda Cassatt began her professional career in media and publishing. She volunteered with the educational programs department at the National Gallery of Art (Washington, DC, 2008–2009). She later held editorial and internship roles at The New Yorker (Manhattan, New York, 2010–2012), PEN American Center (Manhattan, New York, 2011), and W. W. Norton & Company (Manhattan, New York, 2011). She also worked as an editorial assistant at n+1 (Brooklyn, New York, 2012).
From November 2013 to May 2015, Cassatt served as Special Projects Editor at The Huffington Post in Manhattan, New York, contributing to political and impact coverage and supporting editorial strategy. She co-founded Slant News Inc. in March 2015 and served as Editorial Director until April 2016, overseeing content development and community growth. Concurrently, she served as a board member and Communications Chair of the Columbia Venture Community from February 2016 to February 2018.
In August 2016, Cassatt joined ConsenSys as Chief Marketing Officer, serving until December 2019. Based in New York, she led marketing and brand initiatives during a period of expansion for the Ethereum ecosystem, supporting portfolio companies and community development.
In July 2019, she founded Serotonin, a web3-focused marketing and professional services firm. Through Serotonin, she has overseen go-to-market strategy and advisory work for blockchain-native organizations and established brands. The firm has also incubated and launched venture-backed companies, including Mojito (2021), a platform focused on NFT commerce; Franklin (2022), a hybrid payroll platform integrating cash and digital assets; and the Serotonin Platform (2023), a professional community initiative. Cassatt continues to serve as Founder of Serotonin.
In an interview during the Consensus conference, Cassatt discussed the strategic differences between marketing in Web2 and Web3. She elaborated on the unique challenges and opportunities for building brands in the decentralized space and spoke about Serotonin's expansion into the Asia-Pacific market.
