Augustus (Augie) Ilag is a venture capital investor who serves as a Partner and Head of Asia at CMT Digital. Augie Ilag studied at Stanford University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 2014, followed by a Master of Science in Management Science and Engineering in 2015. Augie Ilag’s career spans management consulting, venture capital, and digital asset investing, with a focus on technology-driven businesses in emerging markets. He began his professional career at McKinsey & Company, where he worked as a management consultant in the firm’s Manila and Bogotá offices from 2015 to 2019, advising clients on strategy, operations, and organizational topics. Earlier roles included positions at BigPanda in growth strategy, as well as short-term appointments with the United States Senate, Bain & Company, and Citi.
From 2019 to 2023, Ilag was an investor at Sequoia Capital India and Southeast Asia, where he worked on venture investments across the region, including initiatives related to blockchain and digital assets. In 2023, he joined CMT Digital as Investment Partner and Head of Asia.
