He then served as the Director of Planning (기획실장) at business incubator miralab from September 1999 to December 2000. Subsequently, An held the role of President & CEO at Renodigm, a digital content aggregation and marketing firm, from December 2000 to December 2002.
In March 2003, An joined SK Communications, where he spent over seven years as the Director of Business Development and Head of the Service Strategy Department (서비스전략실장) until October 2010. He then transitioned to Hyundai Card∙Life∙Capital∙Commercial, serving as General Manager from November 2010 to July 2016. In this capacity, he specialized in brand, digital, and financial product marketing.
An's career then pivoted more directly into digital leadership roles within the financial securities sector. As the head of the Digital Division, An has led several high-profile initiatives aimed at integrating emerging technologies into Mirae Asset's financial services.
An oversaw the development of 'M-STOCK,' Mirae Asset's mobile trading system (MTS). The platform incorporates several advanced features designed to enhance the user investment experience, including AI-powered investment assistance, the ability for South Korean investors to trade U.S. stocks during local daytime hours, and support for fractional share trading. In October 2023, the Digital Division, under An's leadership, received a '2023 Asia Smart Finance Award' in recognition of the M-STOCK platform's contributions to customer service and financial innovation.[1]
An leads the company's strategic push into tokenized assets. He directs the "Mirae Asset Security Token Working Group," an internal consortium tasked with building the infrastructure for the issuance, distribution, and trading of tokenized securities. A central part of this initiative is a partnership announced in September 2023 with Polygon Labs. In this collaboration, Polygon Labs serves as a technical consultant to help Mirae Asset develop a globally interoperable platform for tokenized assets, aiming to bridge domestic and international financial ecosystems.[2] [1]
Under An's direction, Mirae Asset has pursued partnerships to expand its presence in Web3 and artificial intelligence.
