Milestones

Co-founded and chaired Netskil hf., an early software company for electronic bill presentation and online payments, which was later acquired by Icelandic banks in 2002.

Elected by the Icelandic Parliament to the Supervisory Board of the Central Bank of Iceland, where he served as Vice Chairman and briefly as Chairman until 2017.

Co-founded Monerium, a company focused on issuing regulated, fiat-backed digital tokens (e-money) on blockchains, in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis.

Completed his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Iceland (Haskoli Islands).
