We've just announced IQ AI.
Troy Hua is the co-founder of REVOX, an AI platform designed to bridge artificial intelligence and Web3 technologies. He has a background in AI research, specifically in dialogue systems. [6]
Hua graduated from Tsinghua University with a BS in Computer Science in 2012. He then attended Carnegie Mellon University to receive a Master's in Computer Science in 2014. [3]
Hua began his career as an intern at Microsoft Research Asia from March 2011 to May 2012, where he worked on developing an entity search engine and a news system. He then worked as a research assistant at Carnegie Mellon University from August 2012 to June 2014, focusing on machine learning and its applications in human language, speech processing, and dialog systems. Afterward, he joined LinkedIn as a software engineer from July 2014 to June 2015, contributing to the feed relevance team and building personalized ranking models. Hua then briefly became a senior software engineer at LinkedIn from June to October 2015, working on automatic training workflows for feed relevance. He later moved to Pinterest, where he worked from October 2015 to August 2018, leading the shopping ads team and building an e-commerce product ads platform. From September 2018 to March 2020, he served as the head of Ads Ranking at Qutoutiao, before moving to ByteDance in March 2020, where he worked as an engineering manager for Pangle Ads Network until May 2022. Hua co-founded REVOX in May 2022. [1] [4]
Hua co-founded REVOX to address the challenges in the intersection of AI and Web3. In an interview with LBank, he mentioned that while both technologies are often discussed together, they remain largely siloed. AI products like ChatGPT, Runway, and Grok operate within their ecosystems and are disconnected from decentralized infrastructure. Meanwhile, decentralized AI projects such as Bittensor, Ritual, and IO.net lack the widespread use of traditional AI tools. Hua recognized the need for an infrastructure that bridges these two worlds, enabling developers to connect decentralized AI systems with applications. REVOX aims to be this interface, positioning itself as the operating system that supports AI applications across decentralized platforms, similar to how an operating system enables applications to function on various devices. [1]
In a REVOX tutorial video, Hua showcased creating an AI agent using the REVOX Studio on the BNB Chain. He detailed the process of starting with the REVOX platform, accessing the agent creation interface, and defining various characteristics of the agent, including its persona and functionalities through plugins. Hua illustrated examples of simple and complex agents, such as a crypto expert who leveraged Google search to provide token information and a virtual avatar mimicking Donald Trump that could assist with Bitcoin purchases using decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols. He highlighted the integration of security measures, ensuring user secret keys remained private and verification steps were in place for transactions. Additionally, he discussed future advancements, including the development of visually appealing avatars based on user photos and voices for more engaging interactions. The presentation emphasized the potential of combining AI with DeFi capabilities while addressing safety concerns in the evolving Web3 landscape. [6]
