Hart Lambur is a Co-Founder of Risk Labs, which supports the UMA and Across protocols, and an investor at Robot Ventures. UMA is an optimistic oracle enabling the provision and verification of diverse on-chain data. Hart completed his education at Upper Canada College in 2001 before being accepted into Columbia University the same year. He pursued and successfully graduated with a degree in Computer Science, earning Magna Cum Laude honors in May 2005. During his time at Columbia University, Hart won the prestigious Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honors award, recognizing his academic excellence.
Hart Lambur began his professional journey in the summer of 2004 while studying at Columbia University in New York City. He joined Goldman Sachs as a Java programmer within the Market Risk Technology team. Concurrently, he worked as a teaching assistant in the Computer Science Department and later served as a Research Assistant in the Columbia Robotics Laboratory. After graduating, Hart joined Goldman Sachs in June 2005, assuming various roles across different departments over nearly eight years. Notably, he met Allison Lu at Goldman Sachs, who later co-founded UMA with him. Allison had been a vice-president at Goldman Sachs, while Hart specialized as a government bond trader, focusing on interest rate products and electronic bond trading enhancements.
In December 2014, Hart Lambur founded Openfolio, a platform dedicated to personal finance tracking with the goal of fostering transparency in investing. Openfolio enabled users to make informed financial decisions by leveraging collective data insights from numerous investors. Stone Ridge Asset Management later acquired Openfolio, furthering their industry standing.
In March 2018, Hart Lambur established the Risk Labs Foundation, serving as the main hub for UMA. UMA's primary objective is to provide Universal Market Access, enabling individuals from diverse backgrounds to participate in the financial market. Risk Labs drives the development of the Across and UMA Protocols, providing a decentralized platform for financial contracts.
