Anthony Thio is the Co-CEO of the Indonesian cryptocurrency platform Pintu. Anthony Thio earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with highest honors from The University of Texas at Austin, where he studied from 2010 to 2014. He completed his secondary education at SMAK 1 Penabur Jakarta High School between 2007 and 2010. [4]
Anthony Thio has held senior executive, product, and engineering roles across the digital asset, technology, and energy sectors. At Pintu, an Indonesia-based digital asset platform, he served as Chief Product Officer from 2019 to 2024 before assuming the role of Co-Chief Executive Officer in August 2024. In these roles, he has been involved in shaping the company’s product strategy, with a focus on developing regulated and accessible entry points to digital assets for users in Indonesia. During his tenure, he led the development and launch of several key products, including the Pintu Web3 Wallet and Pintu Pro Futures, both designed to expand access to decentralized applications and compliant derivatives trading.
Earlier in his career, Thio worked in product and business roles at Dana Cita and Traveloka, where he contributed to the design, launch, and iteration of consumer-facing fintech, travel, and digital utility products, as well as early business development initiatives. Prior to transitioning into technology and product management, he held engineering positions at ExxonMobil Chemical Asia Pacific in Singapore, focusing on process operations, materials balance analysis, and plant performance.
