DAOBase (formerly known as ThePASS) is an AI-powered DAO launcher and aggregator designed to help DAOs and users construct their own onchain reputation layers. Founded in 2021 and headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, DAOBase compiles essential information, social data, treasury assets, governance details, and related metrics across 7 major blockchains, and has mapped over 170,000 DAOs and 6 million governance participants.[20] It supports the creation and growth of decentralized communities by integrating governance frameworks, analytics, and reputation tools such as DAOBadgeX, enabling monitoring, evaluation, and analysis of DAO performance.[18]
DAOBadgeX functions as a dynamic NFT-based onchain reputation system that updates according to a user’s DAO governance activity, reflecting participation in proposals, voting, and other governance interactions.[21] The project initially launched under the name ThePASS as a DAO data and NFT PASS infrastructure platform, and later rebranded to DAOBase as its scope expanded into a broader AI-powered DAO launcher and data infrastructure layer.[20]
DAOBase aggregates data from over 170,000 DAOs and 6 million governance participants across 7 major blockchains, using a structured product model and extensive data collection to provide a resource for researching and launching within the DAO ecosystem.[18]
Through this data layer, DAOBase allows users to explore operational methods, governance structures, decision-making mechanisms, and community participation of DAOs, while also enabling the launch of new DAOs with integrated token issuance, treasury management, proposal systems, and delegation across multiple governance frameworks.[18]
The platform organizes and categorizes DAO information, making it accessible through indexed profiles, filters, and search tools that assist researchers, founders, and decision-makers in navigating DAO-related data.[18]
In addition, DAOBase operates as an AI-powered DAO launcher and onchain reputation layer, recording users' DAO activities on the blockchain, assigning reputation scores, and issuing DAO badges through tools such as DAOBadgeX, which uses dynamic NFTs to represent governance participation.[18][19]
The project launched around 2021 under the name ThePASS as a DAO data aggregator and NFT PASS infrastructure platform focused on combining DAO profiles, treasury information, and membership NFTs.[20] Its early products centered on PASS-based access and data tools for creators and DAOs, positioning the platform as a hub for DAO information and membership infrastructure.[3]
In February 2022, ThePASS introduced The PASS Bot, an integration designed to provide NFT-gated access and role management for communities, particularly on platforms such as Discord.[5] In June 2022, it launched the PASS Dashboard to present DAO treasury data, including fungible and non-fungible asset holdings.[7] ThePASS DAO Search Engine followed in August 2023, adding searchable profiles for DAOs, members, artists, and collections.[8]
As the platform added an AI-powered DAO launcher, expanded data coverage, and onchain reputation tools such as DAOBadgeX, it rebranded from ThePASS to DAOBase to reflect its broader role as a DAO data and infrastructure layer.[20] In July 2024, DAOBase announced a USD 6,000,000 funding round to support its work on AI-assisted smart governance and DAO data products.[22] On December 8, 2025, DAOBase’s acquisition by GOUT Technologies was announced, with plans to continue expanding its AI and onchain data capabilities within the acquiring company’s broader technology stack.[23]
Fundamental data is essential for understanding DAOs, but it is often scattered and difficult for members to access. To address this, foundational data has been aggregated in addition to the DAO's avatar, introduction, category, and official website information.[1]
Alchemy and official APIs are utilized to monitor on-chain data from various mainstream blockchains. Additionally, data from prevalent protocols in the market is analyzed. This method is intended to ensure accurate coverage of DAO asset data across different chains and protocols, including detailed information on fund inflows and outflows.[2]
To conduct a thorough analysis of DAO assets, data on these assets is first collected. Prices from CoinGecko are chosen as the evaluation basis for fungible token (FT) assets. An independent evaluation framework has been developed for non-fungible token (NFT) assets to support effective assessment of this asset class. [2]
DAOBase offers a set of products that combine DAO data aggregation, NFT PASS-based membership infrastructure, treasury dashboards, and search tools. These products are designed to help DAOs and communities manage access, visualize treasury holdings, and explore DAO-related information across multiple blockchains.[3]
The DAO BASE platform provides three types of NFT PASSes: Staking Based PASS, Fixed Price PASS, and Bonding Curve PASS. These NFT PASSes serve as utility NFTs and act as Proof of Passion (POP), granting access to a creator's squad or DAO.[3]
The PASS functions as infrastructure for Web 3 Creator Link-up, enabling the creation, management, and governance of DAOs through NFT PASSes. It serves creators such as artists, DAOs, guilds, musicians, and projects.[3][4]
It assists mainly in four areas:
In February 2022, The Pass Bot feature was added for both newly created and established DAOs. The PASS Bot functions as an integration for NFT-gated access and role management in online communities, particularly on platforms such as Discord, linking members’ NFT PASS holdings to specific channels or permissions.[5]
The Staking Token PASS comprises two components: ERC-20 token staked NFT PASS and ERC-721 token staked NFT PASS. These tokens are generated either by staking ERC20 tokens or by staking ERC721 tokens (NFTs).[4][3]
Creators' rewards vary depending on the type of PASS issuance. For fixed price PASS, the platform deducts a 2% commission fee, while the remainder goes to the creator's address. With Bonding Curve PASS, creators can receive a percentage ranging from 0% to 20% of the Initial Sell. Staking Token PASS focuses more on utilizing existing ERC-20 tokens and NFTs rather than selling.[3]
A Bonding Curve PASS (BC) is a type of NFT PASS that combines price dynamics with DAO-oriented utility. As the supply of the NFT PASS increases, its price follows a predefined formula. When people purchase a creator's NFT PASSes, the price of the NFT automatically increases at a predetermined rate. There are two types of Bonding Curve PASSes available: "Basic" and "Advanced".[6]
The NFT PASS of a DAO or community serves as proof of passion within the Web3.0 ecosystem. The PASS team suggests that many Web3.0 DAOs or communities may release NFT PASSes, treating them as a type of on-chain footprint or proof for Web3.0 users.[6] Creators who utilize Bonding Curve PASSes can receive a percentage ranging from 0% to 20% of the Initial Sell.[6]
Through Bonding Curve PASSes, DAO and community organizers can structure membership so that NFT PASS holders gain defined access rights, governance voting power, and delineated ownership stakes expressed via on-chain tokens.[6]
The PASS Dashboard provides data on DAO treasury holdings, including FT vault and NFT vault, allowing users to track assets and their evaluated values. The tool is presented as a way to increase visibility into DAO treasuries so that members and observers can view information about shared assets.[7]
Through The PASS Dashboard, users can monitor:
After a DAO profile is integrated with the system, a corresponding dashboard is generated based on the available onchain and aggregated data.[7]
ThePASS's DAO Search Engine offers users a structured way to explore and review DAOs across different domains. Key features include:[8]
Functionality includes searching for DAOs, Members, Artists, and Collections:[8]
