Johnny Lyu is the CEO of KuCoin, since 2020. Before he undertook roles such as VP and Head of Global Business Development. His responsibilities included managing daily operations and overseeing strategic cooperation and investment efforts.

Before his time at KuCoin, Lyu served as Chief Executive Officer of IMOOLO Jewelry Co., Ltd., and Technical Supervisor of Hongkong Milanoo.

Johnny Lyu was involved in the establishment of KuCoin, a global cryptocurrency exchange platform, alongside former CEO and Co-Founder Michael Gan. Their shared vision aimed to create a trading platform accessible to everyone, regardless of their background.

In mid-2017, Michael and KuCoin's President Eric recognized the potential of blockchain technology and decided to found KuCoin. Lyu joined the team to oversee operational aspects while Michael focused on the technological aspects.

Since March 2020, Lyu has served as KuCoin Global CEO, overseeing the platform's daily operations, including KuCoin Futures, Pool-X, and the expansion of the KCS ecosystem.
