Prom
Prom is a modular ZkEVM Layer 2 founded in 2018, that enables interoperability across various chains, including both EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) and non-EVM-compatible networks. Prom submits its proof of transaction to the additional chains on top of the chosen Settlement chain, building the bridge between ecosystems. [1][2]
Overview
Developed by Prometeus Labs, Prom's core offering is a Layer 2 (L2) scaling solution built on existing L1 blockchains. It leverages zk-SNARKs (zero-knowledge succinct non-interactive arguments of knowledge) cryptography, a privacy-preserving technology that verifies computations without revealing the underlying data. This zkEVM (Zero-Knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine) architecture enables Prom to inherit the security of the underlying L1 chain while offering significantly faster transaction processing and lower fees. [3]
Utility
Powered by Polygon, PROM zkEVM uses zkSNARKs to reduce transaction costs, offering users an economical blockchain solution. It harnesses Polygon Zero for rapid transactions and scalable dApp development, due to recursive STARK technology. [1]
PROM integrates with existing Ethereum infrastructure, minimizing development overhead, it ensures secure and immutable transactions by combining Ethereum's security with the efficiency of ZK proofs. [1]
PROM Token
$PROM is the native token that powers the Prom zkEVM ecosystem, facilitating transactions, empowering users with governance, and incentivizing community contributions. [4]
$PROM token grants users decision-making power, shaping the future of the network, it fuels transactions and contract interactions, and it provides access and engagement with a diverse range of network services. [1][4]
Partnerships
Prom x Automata Network
On March 18, 2024, Prom partnered with Automata Network, a modular attestation layer to pioneer advancements in blockchain technology. [5]
Partnership with Automata Network fosters the upgrade of Prom’s infrastructure, offering a more efficient framework. This collaboration also broadens our array of developer tools that would further enable developers to build on top of Prom with ease. - the announcement mentioned[5]
Prom x Bailsec
On March 20, 2024, Prom unveiled its first Security Partner, Bailsec, a leading provider of Smart Contract Audits and Security services. [6]
This integration is a significant step in our journey to build a secure ecosystem. Bailsec brings an unparalleled expertise of ensuring the safety and integrity of Web3 products that will transmit to every user interacting with our protocol. [6]
Recognizing the importance of security in the modern blockchain space, Prom's alliance with Bailsec is designed to strengthen its ecosystem and offer projects within the network access to top-tier services. By integrating Bailsec’s expertise directly into the Prom's network, the network aims to ensure the total safety of every transaction and data. [6]
Prom x Blockscout
On March 21, 2024, Prom welcomed Blockscout, a leading open-source explorer for Ethereum & EVM-compatible chains, into its ecosystem. [7]
This integration heralds a new chapter in our commitment to enhancing blockchain transparency and accessibility for users and developers alike.[7]
Together, both platforms aim to leverage their collective strengths to foster a more transparent, accessible, and interconnected blockchain community. They aim to offer the community real-time viewing of transactions, advanced smart contract verification, and in-depth token tracking. [7]
