Youbin Kang is a South Korean entrepreneur and investor known for his work in the blockchain and cryptocurrency sector. He is the chief executive officer of Nonce Classic and has a professional background that includes venture development, early-stage investment, and management consulting. [1]
Kang attended Seoul National University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management, graduating in 2017. During his undergraduate studies, he also studied abroad at the University of Helsinki, from which he received a Bachelor’s degree from the Liberal Arts Department in 2015. [3]
Kang began his entrepreneurial career in 2015 as a co-founder of Angelswing, where he focused on developing a drone-related business model and managing service operations. During this period, from 2015 to 2016, he also completed an internship at Thefarmers, a food e-commerce company, contributing to market analysis and operational improvements. In 2016, he founded Wefrix, a platform designed to connect users through matching services. Concurrently, he gained experience in corporate research as a research assistant for both the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Roland Berger, where he contributed to due diligence and market research projects across the logistics, manufacturing, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) sectors.
In 2017, Kang transitioned to a role as a strategy consultant at Deloitte, where he worked until 2018. His responsibilities included projects related to business strategy, organizational analysis, and feasibility assessments for clients across multiple industries. Following his time at Deloitte, he co-founded Alpha273 in 2018, serving as the company's chief financial officer and chief operating officer until 2020. In this dual role, he was responsible for overseeing all legal, tax, and accounting functions.
In 2020, Kang was appointed chief executive officer of Nonce Classic, an organization that evolved from a blockchain-focused community initiative based in Seoul. Since 2023, he has expanded his role within the Nonce community by actively participating as an early-stage investor, funding and supporting new ventures within its ecosystem. [4]
