Afanddy B Hushni is the founder and Chairman of Beldex International, a company involved in cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, and privacy-focused Web3 infrastructure.[3] He founded Beldex in 2018 as a privacy-first blockchain ecosystem designed to support confidential transactions, communications, and browsing through decentralized applications.[3] With more than 22 years of experience in trading, investment, quantitative trading, and crypto asset management, Afanddy has a background spanning both traditional finance and the digital asset economy.[3][4]
Afanddy B Hushni earned a Diploma in Computer Studies, with a focus on Accounting and Finance, from Data Power EDP/NCC, completed between 1993 and 1996.[4] This program combined computer studies with accounting and finance.[3]
Afanddy’s professional career began in the mid-1990s in Malaysia, where he held roles in research and development, IT support, and administration at companies including Orbtech Power (M) Sdn Bhd, Ampuh Indah (M) Sdn Bhd, C.A.M Pasir Gudang, Risys Tech Sdn Bhd, YPS Gas Sdn Bhd / YPJ Group, and Projek Panorama (M) Sdn Bhd.[4] He subsequently moved into IT and engineering management, serving as IT Manager at XL Computer System Sdn Bhd from September 1997 to August 2000 and as Senior Manager at Supreme Marketing Concept (M) Sdn Bhd from June 2000 to November 2012.[4]
From December 2012 to January 2018, Afanddy worked as a Manager at The Nomad Group Berhad in Kuala Lumpur, followed by a role as Head of Department at YM Consultant Sdn Bhd from January 2018 to January 2019.[4] In parallel, he became self-employed in July 2017, focusing on general management, quantitative trading, and crypto asset management related to digital assets and decentralized technologies.[4][3]
In March 2018, Afanddy founded Beldex and became its Chairman, guiding the project from a privacy-focused cryptocurrency network into a broader privacy-preserving Web3 ecosystem.[4][3] As founder and chairman, he oversees strategic direction, including Beldex’s transition from Proof of Work to a Proof of Stake-based network and the development of privacy-oriented decentralized applications.[3]
Beldex (BDX) is a privacy-focused cryptocurrency and blockchain ecosystem founded in 2018 by Afanddy B Hushni.[3] It was initially launched as a Proof of Work network and later transitioned to a Proof of Stake-based consensus in December 2021, with BDX holders able to participate in securing the network through Beldex masternodes.[3] The BDX token functions as the native asset of the Beldex blockchain, used for transactions and as a utility token within the ecosystem.[3][1]
The Beldex network is designed to support confidential, privacy-preserving transactions and decentralized applications that aim to protect users’ financial and online activity.[3] Its ecosystem includes BChat, a private messaging application; BelNet, a decentralized VPN service; and the Beldex Browser, which is developed as an ad-free Web3 browser focused on user privacy.[3][5] Beldex also develops the Beldex privacy protocol, a cross-chain asset anonymizer intended to extend privacy features to assets bridged from other networks.[5]
In February 2023, Beldex announced that Web3 investment firm DWF Labs committed $25 million to support research and development of the Beldex network and ecosystem.[5] The partnership described DWF Labs as a primary supporter and adviser to Beldex, including assistance with marketing activities and ecosystem growth.[5] In the same announcement, Afanddy B Hushni stated that Beldex’s ecosystem was expanding, with BChat and BelNet already live, ongoing development of the Beldex Browser, and research into integrating EVM compatibility on the Beldex mainnet to enable privacy-preserving smart contracts.[5]
Afanddy B Hushni, chairman of Beldex, gave an interview to the CryptoKnowMics website at the World Blockchain Summit in Bangkok. In this interview, which was published on December 11, 2019, he discussed topics including decentralized exchanges, privacy-focused cryptocurrencies, and Shariah compliance in the cryptocurrency sector.[2]
During the interview, Afanddy highlighted Beldex’s plans at that time to launch its own exchange and emphasized the platform’s privacy focus, contrasting it with Bitcoin by describing Beldex as designed to conceal user identities and transaction details. This privacy-centric approach was framed as a response to concerns over user anonymity in the crypto space. He also outlined the advantages of decentralized exchanges (DEXs), where users retain control over their funds, compared with centralized exchanges that hold user data and assets in a single location.[2]
Afanddy noted that Beldex aimed to support both decentralized and centralized exchange models, allowing users to select the approach that suited their needs. A further point of discussion was Beldex’s positioning as a Shariah-compliant exchange, which he said entailed adherence to Islamic law and avoidance of activities such as money laundering and Ponzi schemes. He also addressed the misconception that cryptocurrency is synonymous with Bitcoin, highlighting the broader market of altcoins and encouraging users to consider the diversity of projects beyond Bitcoin.[2]
