Amber Baldet
Amber Baldet is the co‑founder and CEO of Clovyr, which provides privacy‑preserving, browser‑based development environments and self‑hosting tools that let individuals and teams deploy and manage open‑source applications on their own infrastructure or cloud accounts.[7][10][11][12] A former Executive Director at J.P. Morgan, she led the team that developed Quorum, the bank’s in‑house blockchain platform.[7] From 2018 to 2024 she served on the board of the Zcash Foundation and is a founding board member of the Financial Privacy Foundation, which focuses on financial privacy and supports Zcash‑related ecosystem grants.[7][9][13]
Career
Baldet joined J.P. Morgan in 2012.[3] She was previously a Senior Consultant at Capco, a Managing Partner at Blackwire, a Business Analyst at Old Lane, and an Application Developer at Avalon Research Group.[3]
She launched Quorum, an open-source code based on Ethereum and is designed to cater to big-business’s needs such as scale, performance, and privacy.[4]
In 2018, after leaving J.P. Morgan, Baldet co‑founded Clovyr, a startup that offers a suite of tools for blockchain applications and services, and she continues to serve as its CEO.[7][8]
Beyond her corporate and startup work, Baldet has been active in governance and advocacy around financial privacy. She served on the board of the Zcash Foundation from 2018 until stepping down in 2024, and in 2023 became a founding board member of the Cayman Islands–based Financial Privacy Foundation, which focuses on financial privacy, supports Zcash‑related ecosystem grants, and is preparing to administer the Zcash Community Grants program following the community’s adoption of ZIP 1015.[7][9][13]

Baldet was selected #31 on Fortune Magazine's 40 under 40 and #9 for CoinDesk's Most Influential People in Blockchain; Both accolades were earned by Baldet in 2017.[5][6] A 2024 profile by Zypto listed Baldet among the “Top 10 Influential Women in the Crypto Space” and highlighted her work on enterprise blockchain and privacy‑focused applications.[8]
